In this research, 296 university students who do not receive specialized education on food were targeted. A questionnaire on childhood dietary experience and current diet was conducted in order to clarify the current situation of dietary habits of university students and the relationship between the childhood dietary experience and current dietary habits,. For the current meal-intake situation, not only breakfast but also dinner was absent. However, many students attempted to eat well-balanced meals. Students living alone tended to eat lunch and late night snacks. The state of intake during childhood influenced their current meal-intake situation especially on lunch and late night snacks. The subjects who had food education as children felt that the education was useful. These results suggest that in order to optimize the dietary habits of university students, not only a review current of dietary habits, but also habits and education as children were deemed imprtant.
